Ellen Hanifan

Elected : USSSA New York Hall Of Fame in 2013

Ellen is a native of Camillus, NY and has worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 29 years.  She attended Oswego State University and played ice hockey and softball.  After graduation she began playing USSSA softball in the Syracuse City Recreational league.  Starting in the early 1980's she played numerous leagues around the county, sometimes as much as 4 times a week.  She traveled to many tournaments with the same core of team mates. They won state and regional titles while representing Central NY and were inducted as a team into the NY USSSA Hall of Fame.  Although not being known as a home run hitter, Ellen would probably be remembered for her consistency and passion for the game.  Ellen is very thankful for all the good lifelong friends she made because of softball and to the USSSA representatives that work tirelessly to make this possible.
